Oh the bitter chill of winter, how I do not like thee. I am not a fan of the kapha season. In other words: the winter. It’s cold, heavy, dull and damp. My fiery pitta self is not fond of this, not one bit. I just want to snuggle up in my warm cozy bed and dream about the summer. It also doesn’t help that I have been up working on my book until my eyes are drooping and exhausted. But I am truly having so much fun. It’s such a joy to finally give my gifts and passions the attention it deserves. 2015 is my year. And I am really really excited to share my book with all of you (stay tuned).

Make It Happen, Captain
“Such a simple concept, yet so true: that which we manifest is before us; we are the creators of our own destiny. Be it through intention or ignorance, our successes and our failures have been brought on by none other than ourselves.” ― Garth Stein
This quote really speaks to me as I think about all the things I wish to make happen and manifest in 2015. We are really in control of fates, the captains of our souls. We have the amazing power to become happier, healthier, abundant, write a book, paint a masterpiece, go to school, and more. We just don’t realize this awesome opportunity at times. We need a little shove. A little coaxing if you will.
What intentions will you manifest this year? How will you make sh*t happen and really give yourself the push to break through your comfort zone and grow? 2015 is your year. Your blank slate. Grab that paint brush and create your masterpiece.

“Dare to dream! If you did not have the capability to make your wildest wishes come true, your mind would not have the capacity to conjure such ideas in the first place. There is no limitation on what you can potentially achieve, except for the limitation you choose to impose on your own imagination. What you believe to be possible will always come to pass – to the extent that you deem it possible. It really is as simple as that.” ― Anthon St. Maarten
Sensual Chocolate Mousse
Happy New Year everyone! I love the concept that new years are an opportunity to start the first page of a new diary. It’s a blank canvas waiting to be painted with your unique masterpiece. It belongs to you. You are in control and that is absolutely fantastic.
So, a few weeks ago I had a very intimate but incredible gathering in my home and was in complete awe of the beautiful energies exchanged in my own home. I just get really giddy and excited to have people over so I can cook for them. How cheesy am I? I mean, after all food and laughter are the ways to my heart so I love to share this with the people I love. The menu that night was really all about comforting yet sexy foods. For my meat eaters I made a delightful boeuf bourguignon a la Julia Childs with creamy herbed mashed potatoes. For my veggies I made a hearty pot pie. But really the piece de la resistance was the dessert. Sultry, sensual, decadent, melt in your mouth chocolate mousse. The best part? No one realized it was vegan. WINNING!
Easy Veggie Enchiladas
Holy moly. Can you believe that 2014 is practically over? There are amazing opportunities for growth, goal setting, and to break out of that comfort zone. I am really looking forward to having my book come out in just a few months. It amazes me that I really have had this as part of my life’s purpose but only recently have tuned in to make space for this to become a reality.
As I continue to crank out this fantastic book, I am really busy in the kitchen testing out the oldies and improving those recipes to make them divinely delicious (and simple) for all readers. But I gave myself a break last week and decided I wanted to make enchiladas (something I have NEVER made before). I love the idea of having a brown rice tortilla drenched in a tangy, spicy sauce and having it bake until it melts in your mouth.
Trusting the process
One thing that is absolutely amazing to me is how hard it is to relinquish our control over life. We have this compulsive desire to hang on to each detail, the results of our labors and even hold on for dear life to our plans.
What we don’t realize is that by letting the reins go even slightly makes way for immense opportunities for growth AND opens up the door for your life’s purpose and passion.
My friend and certified yoga teacher Kathy sat down to chat about this with me in my latest vlog.
