The weather is cooling down and you know what that means?! It’s time for soups, casseroles, hearty meals and time to buckle down and find our rooting. And might I add time for the awesome holiday’s. I’m already in the process of brainstorming ideas for recipes to wow my family especially with vegetables they haven’t tried before and in combinations that really represent the heart of the season.

Oven Baked Apple Chips {After all, it is fall}
I’m back! Yea I’ve been a little MIA but I needed some time to just do absolutely nothing. Have you ever done that? That’s exactly what Matt and I did for the last 2 weeks. We decided that instead of going on vacation we would just enjoy time together at home, binge-watching The Walking Dead and just savoring every moment of nothingness. And a few trips to Momofuku Milk Bar for some Cereal Milk Icecream (don’t knock it till you try it- it’s heaven).
Of course, this gave me an opportunity to really start experimenting with some new fall recipes, plan our wedding without stress and gear up for the fun of the upcoming season. I just want to decorate the house with pumpkins. I kid you not we have about 10 baby pumpkins and you can count on me to add even more to the house.
There is something refreshing about the fall. Even though the summer is great and all of that, I just feel like the fall is a great time to start over. To get back on track and get ready to get shit done. And for the last month of summer I’ve felt lazy. I just wanted to sleep, I just didn’t even want to think about the to-do lists or working out every day. I just really wanted to enjoy the fruits of summer. And you know what? That’s totally okay. Summer is meant to be a vacation (and it really should be- we all work hard!) and the fall is back to the grind. I am so ready for it.
Oh Snap, I’m on a Podcast
Hello beautiful friends!
I am back from a much needed (and well-deserved) hiatus from social media, work and more. I don’t think we realize how much time is spent doing mindless things (aka scrolling on Instagram for hours…) and how much time is dedicated to our phones, gadgets, gizmos, etc. It’s a lot and when you’re running your own biz, you really spend more time on these things because I know if I didn’t I would feel I wasn’t making any progress. But after a week off, one thing rang true.
Simplicity is key.
O.M.G. Gotta Get Some Ghee
The last day or so I find myself really focused on being focused, getting clear and staying on my path. I sometimes struggle and think that maybe I’m not cut out to run my own business, or caught up in the “what if” mindset. I’m new at this and I am always learning how to improve but sometimes that ego and that mind chatter begins. And I’m like listen b*tch, it’s time for you to shut up so I can focus. No more bs, let’s show up, do the work and everything will be okay. But there are moments when I just don’t want to do a damn thing and I wonder if I should go back to working a corporate job because that’s what everyone else seems to be doing, because that seems to be much easier than trying to figure this out myself.
Quite the struggle, ain’t it?
A Yogi’s Kitchen
Lately, I’ve gotten quite a few questions about my grocery lists, my kitchen, my pantry, etc. Basically, how in the world do you cook all those amazing things and where do you get them from? Honey, let me tell you it is such a pleasure for me to go grocery shopping. If you do not know this already I am in love with my kitchen and one of my favorite hobbies outside of cooking, is grocery shopping. Legit, I get excited to go to Whole Foods and Trader Joes. It’s my fave. But I know that I have a tendency to go insane because I do love shopping for groceries THAT much.
I know that for some people it cannot be an enjoyable experience. It causes stress and frustration and that is not the energy you want to put in your food. I feel that to create a loving, holistic and ultimately healthy life you have to approach this with ease and calm. To help you feel at ease, I’m sharing my kitchen with you. My pantry, my fridge. All the goodies up in there. Let’s help you make your kitchen a sanctuary for healing and soul nourishment baby. You deserve it.
