It’s March but I don’t think mother nature got the memo. It’s freaking snowing again. They’re calling it Winter Storm Thor. Basically, the god of thunder is manifesting himself as a snow storm. And my crazy self decided to trek it to Manhattan to get a blowout (I mean hello, it’s my book release party tomorrow!) and treat myself to sensational hot cocoa at City Bakery (so amazingly delicious, it’s almost like chocolate soup with a marshmallow crouton). I actually had to go get a spoon because there was no way I was going to be able to slurp this bowl of cocoa soup.

Savor with Utmost Pleasure

A pleasurable experience with food. Photo taken by Diana Chaplin at Living Body Wellness.
Wow, the last few weeks have really flown by in such a blur. Even with the boxes of copies of my cookbook in hand it still has not really hit me that it’s real. It’s as though I am making all of this up and I haven’t done any of this. It’s still living in my imagination. And yet, it’s all very real. I am having my book launch party next week at Reflections Yoga Studio (very fitting since my book is called, Yogi Eats) and the universe seems to scream to me: keep on carrying on baby girl. You’re on the right and perfect path. Keep doing you and just watch the beauty unfold.
I am relinquishing a bit of my control over how things show up and just letting it flow. It’s enlightening and awakening to have the opportunity to experience so much clarity at this point in my life. I mean, this time last year I was begging to leave the job I dreaded to start fresh somewhere else (and I did) because I was drastically searching for love (career-related) in a hopeless place. But it wasn’t until I got laid off from a job I really loved that I woke the eff up. My passions burst forth and voila my book was born and things feel so right.
Rockin’ Roasted Red Pepper Mac n Cheese
With all this cold weather lately, anything cheesy sounds more desirable and I’m kind of sick of soup (I’m lying). And it’s amazing that Matthew is such a fan of my mac n cheese especially after the holiday’s when I made him and his coworkers a batch with bacon in it. So on the random day of the week when I ask if he has any requests for the week (yea, we do that in our house) he blurts out: MAC N CHEESE! Now, don’t even get me started on the amazingness of mac and cheese. There is something not only comforting but just absolutely warming about slurping down this cheesy dish. And who I am to deny myself this delightful opportunity to explore a healthier way to satisfy my craving?!
I am Officially A Published Author
Hello my amazing friends! I am ridiculously excited to share this news with all of you. I can barely keep my feet on the ground. I am…wait for it…officially a published author. Just a few days ago my very first (but certainly not last) cookbook, Yogi Eats: A Delicious Journey to Nourishing Your Soul, was published on Amazon. It is absolutely unreal yet at the same time insanely real because of how easily this idea came to me. It’s incredible how once you let go of the expectation of how things are supposed to show up in your life, how they actually show up and how fantastic they are for your life’s true purpose.
A Yogi’s Kitchen
Lately, I’ve gotten quite a few questions about my grocery lists, my kitchen, my pantry, etc. Basically, how in the world do you cook all those amazing things and where do you get them from? Honey, let me tell you it is such a pleasure for me to go grocery shopping. If you do not know this already I am in love with my kitchen and one of my favorite hobbies outside of cooking, is grocery shopping. Legit, I get excited to go to Whole Foods and Trader Joes. It’s my fave. But I know that I have a tendency to go insane because I do love shopping for groceries THAT much.
I know that for some people it cannot be an enjoyable experience. It causes stress and frustration and that is not the energy you want to put in your food. I feel that to create a loving, holistic and ultimately healthy life you have to approach this with ease and calm. To help you feel at ease, I’m sharing my kitchen with you. My pantry, my fridge. All the goodies up in there. Let’s help you make your kitchen a sanctuary for healing and soul nourishment baby. You deserve it.
