I am Officially A Published Author

Hello my amazing friends! I am ridiculously excited to share this news with all of you. I can barely keep my feet on the ground. I am…wait for it…officially a published author. Just a few days ago my very first (but certainly not last) cookbook, Yogi Eats: A Delicious Journey to Nourishing Your Soul, was published on Amazon. It is absolutely unreal yet at the same time insanely real because of how easily this idea came to me. It’s incredible how once you let go of the expectation of how things are supposed to show up in your life, how they actually show up and how fantastic they are for your life’s true purpose.

A Yogi’s Kitchen

2015-02-05 19.43.18

Lately, I’ve gotten quite a few questions about my grocery lists, my kitchen, my pantry, etc. Basically, how in the world do you cook all those amazing things and where do you get them from? Honey, let me tell you it is such a pleasure for me to go grocery shopping. If you do not know this already I am in love with my kitchen and one of my favorite hobbies outside of cooking, is grocery shopping. Legit, I get excited to go to Whole Foods and Trader Joes. It’s my fave. But I know that I have a tendency to go insane because I do love shopping for groceries THAT much.

I know that for some people it cannot be an enjoyable experience. It causes stress and frustration and that is not the energy you want to put in your food. I feel that to create a loving, holistic and ultimately healthy life you have to approach this with ease and calm. To help you feel at ease, I’m sharing my kitchen with you. My pantry, my fridge. All the goodies up in there. Let’s help you make your kitchen a sanctuary for healing and soul nourishment baby. You deserve it.

Take Care of Your Self

When your life’s passion and calling is all about healing, it can be a hard thing to remember and make time for taking care of yourself. Trust me, I’ve done this. I do this. I constantly have to relearn how to put myself back on my own priority list. It’s really sad. I forget that without a nourished, well taken care of me, there is no healer version of me. I have to take care of numero uno before I can spread love through food and beyond.

You are not affective when you’re running on fumes. Stop running yourself ragged. Do at least one thing a week that makes you feel uplifted and replenished. For me, it’s taking time to just check in. What am I craving? Do I need a yoga class, a massage, to not cook tonight so I can get a break? Whatever it is, I FORCE myself to do it. Even if I try to resist, I do it. I need it. I am a priority. And you are too.

Krazy for Kale

I know, I spelled crazy wrong. But there is a sense of madness that ensues once you fall in love with kale. But of course, kale isn’t for everyone just like there is no perfect diet. For me, kale belongs in everything from smoothies to pizza. Yes. I said pizza. If I could have my ideal healthy but delicious pizza it would have kale all up on it.

Bomb Butternut Squash Soup

IMG_5268

How sad is it that I have never made butternut squash soup in my entire experience in the kitchen? Well…I have a confession. Sometimes I do have a fear of trying new vegetables especially the squashes. I remember trying acorn squash and it was not good. Nope. Not one bit. So I was reluctant to try anything new in the squash department aside from zucchini.

This winter I have seen an abundance of butternut squash soup pictures and recipes. It really piqued my interest. So I decided, what the hell. Let me make my own version. I’m sure I will love it. It has to be good. Sure enough, I created something absolutely orgasmic. Creamy, rich, decadent. You’ll want to lick the bowl. I sure did.
