I really am a nutrition nerd…I fell in love with this new version of the food pyramid now called “My Plate.” It illustrates the five food groups as they should appear on our plates (not necessarily all at the same time): half vegetables and fruits, another half grains/whole grains while making protein and dairy the smaller portions.
