About Me

Caught sneaking a taste of the soup

My name is Guramrit Khalsa and I am the owner of this blog.

My life is powered by my passion for the well-being of others.  My passion stems from my life purpose to help people heal through food. As a Holistic Health Counselor, I work with clients to empower, uplift and encourage them to make important changes in their lives.

I am greatly experienced in the magazine publishing industry. I have worked with Parenting Magazine as an editorial intern, freelance writer and up until the magazine closed, I assisted with research and fact checking. In the past I was an editorial intern at TheDailyMeal.com and Kraft Food & Family Magazine. I developed a great passion for social media when I interned with ILERA, an organization dedicated to uplifting families, communities and individuals with a unique focus on sexuality, spirituality, sexual abuse and overall wellness. After working with ILERA, I expanded my skills in social media and marketing by working at the Center of Spiritual Light and Cupcake Digital Inc. And I have been fortunate enough to work at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition as well.

I’m a proud graduate of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Magazine Journalism. In July 2013 I graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition as a certified Holistic Health Counselor. One day I hope to combine my journalistic and writing experiences with my passion and immense love for nutrition and health.

Aside from my work experience, I’m hooked on yoga and cooking (I practically live in the kitchen). I am 99 percent vegan, always vegetarian but a reformed cheese addict (I only eat the good stuff now) who is now passionate about a good green smoothie, whole, organic, nourishing foods. If it smells, looks, feels good then it should taste good and ultimately be good for you.

Embark on this incredibly blessed journey I call my life. Join me for my tasty ramblings of scrumptious healthy, clean, vegan and vegetarian dishes; spirituality; yoga and everything that falls in between.

Peace, love and NO beef!

With an expertise in both journalism and wellness, you bring a lot to your blog! I’ve been poking around and you’ve got a lot of great stuff on here chica. I used to be a cheese and ice cream addict. I seriously didn’t think I could give up dairy, but I’m two years vegan now. I guess ya just have to want it. Anyway, it’s a pleasure e-meeting you! I look forward to getting to know you better. Celeste 🙂
